Intel DCH graphics driver version 27.20.100.8587 also comes with improvements. I may have to go back to Windows 7 Pro but I don't want be stuck missing the free upgrade. For Intel devices running Windows 10 version 1709 and later, a new driver update is now available with numerous fixes. For Optimus (the switching between Intel and Nvidia GPUs) to work the monitor has to be run off of the Intel HD 4000, which it.

That option in the power menu can be enabled by modifying some registry keys but it doesnt mean itll do anything. Would someone in support be able to log into my computer in safe mode with networking. Theres the option in the bios yes, but it does nothing because the bios does not initialize the HD 4000.

I hit install and it reaches 50% goes blank and either restarts with an error or just freezes. The times that I have been able to open up in debugging mode and use Windows update (it doesn't work in safe mode with networking) I tries to update the WDDM 1.1 and 1.3 and it lists the Intel HD Graphics 4000. I tried to get boot using the debugging mode but it will not load. It went into repair mode then gave options for troubleshooting. From there I updated the MS basic display adapter and it installed 153339. The only way to get past the blank screen is to go into safe mode. Once I was back in, the resolution was horrible (very low - expected since the graphics driver for my screen was removed), but then Windows 10 automatically downloaded the same driver and installed it. To find that one I went to Google and searched Intel Download Center and entered my correct device credientials (should be the same for anyone with the Intel HD 30 Graphics and Windows 8 64bit) and downloaded the driver: File name: win64152812.exe Version 15.28. The solution was to uninstall the Intel Graphics HD driver and then to restart the system. I am still experimenting with the stripped down desktop as you described. I couldnt update my second graphics card (NVidia).

I had already gone to the Gigabyte site and downloaded and installed the most recent drivers for the motherboard.
